Christmas Night

The stars were shining exceedingly bright
on the long, dark Christmas night
when God gave and came in splendor
leaving the world standing in wonder

It wasn't till later that man would know
how great a sacrifice He took all together
across the universe, distance and time
He came and dwelled in Mary's womb for 10 months

The King of all universe, the Creator of all
stripped Himself of everything He knows for this very cause
that there'll be peace on earth and goodwill to all men
and none would perish,
as they could come to the light that's now shone amongst them

It was for you and me that He came on Christmas night
as He dropped His rank and joined the fallen race
forsaking all, despising the shame
the light of the world entered that day
to dispel every darkness in man's soul away
forgiving man from every wrong till this day

Have a merry merry Chirstmas!
Nothing shall seperate you from the love of Christ. Have a blessed year ahead.

never ending steps

Life is liken to climbing a series of never ending steps that God specially designed for us.

In the beginning you get all excited and pumped up, you races up the steps in lighting speed and fly by the uphill steps with ease. You passed by several flight of steps, yet you're still strong and confident. Not much of a challange you thought. In your heart, you wana win and be the first to reach the top.

Slowly, the air feels thin around you and breathlessness takes over. You fight against the temptation to slow down and find the nearest short cuts. Each step you take now seems to require a ton of effort. The going gets tougher. Now fellow racers starts overtaking you. Yet you choose to keep a positive attitude, though you slowed down the pace, you pressed on against the surfacing thoughts of doubt.

Few more flights of steps and you find yourself strained and weak, your leg muscles now seems to be unresponsive to your command. One by one you hafta drag yourself in the upward climb. Its by sear will power and a spirit of determination that pulls you onward in conquering the never ending flights of steps.

You may be slower than others, as many other races pass you, yet its not about them anymore. In your heart, you just wana reach the top as soon as possible and be satisfied by just finishing the race. Its a battle against self. A battle of discipline. A battle of endurance.

Its not a battle for victory- for the battle has already been won.
Its not a battle for glory- for to God be the glory be.
Its not a battle for money- for God is Jehovah Jireh, my Provider.

Its a test of faithfulness, an examination of character and a time of training.

"1 Peter 4: 19 So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you."

Religion is deadly.

Religiousity have a set of man-written rules for its followers to live by, their spiritual life is very much dictated by a list of can/cannot dos. The very peace or assurance they sense out of it is birth from their conscience that since they have performed their obligations, God would gain them spiritual freedom-they include Christians too. This salvation by works theory is very much inbedded into us, infitrated our mindset and offset the truth from manmade tranditions. Acceptance is earned, they preaches. Fail to do this and that and you get kicked out cos you failed to qualify. Sad, but utterly deadly. It plays with people's heart, forcing them to live a life to earn their way to heaven by good works, of which many fall to the very pit of hell struggling-cos no matter how much work one can do, it nv seems to be enough and there's no gurantees.

After all the years of accumulated hardwork, when one find himself ending at the wrong side of the fence, i wonder what'll be the looks on their faces. Sad, but utterly true. Many do end up on the wrong side of the fence.

I appreciate God for making it possible for us to have a relationship with him. Instead of setting rules and road signs on the way for us to struggle and walk through life all alone to the end, He prefers to walk us there. He offers spiritual freedom for everyone who believes to know Him, to love Him, to commune with Him and have a bilateral relationship with Him. Its like no where else. What a wonderful Savior!

Freedom to know Him as one would know a friend.

That's enough.

I'll settle for that while the rest of the world fight for a very different kind of freedom-freedom to do what they want at any cost.

You decide...
