The stars were shining exceedingly bright
on the long, dark Christmas night
when God gave and came in splendor
leaving the world standing in wonder
It wasn't till later that man would know
how great a sacrifice He took all together
across the universe, distance and time
He came and dwelled in Mary's womb for 10 months
The King of all universe, the Creator of all
stripped Himself of everything He knows for this very cause
that there'll be peace on earth and goodwill to all men
and none would perish,
as they could come to the light that's now shone amongst them
It was for you and me that He came on Christmas night
as He dropped His rank and joined the fallen race
forsaking all, despising the shame
the light of the world entered that day
to dispel every darkness in man's soul away
forgiving man from every wrong till this day
