"To discover new lands,
You must first lose sight of the shore"
You must first lose sight of the shore"
What's ahead, hundred of miles across the vast oceans, remains a mystery unless one's willing to first lose sight of the current shore he is at. To sail into the unknown with the quest of discovering new opportunities. It takes courage, to drop all that one have- things that are tangible and within control, to seek after some unseen/ undiscovered land with no guranteed of success. To some its a challenge to do so involving too much risk and the sense of insecurity for such task is almost overwhelming, yet there are people who passionately put their lives out there in the realm of unknowns, wanting to stretch the boudaries that limitation has set. Its from the pioneering, adventurous spirit of such people that human civilisation have spread across continents and over the unless seas.
Great adventurers that have their names embedded into human history carried this spirit. The passion of seeking the truth, challenging impossibilites and mastering their own fears and doubts. It is such faith that one is able to accomplish great things in life, and let alone for God.
No wonder the Bible says that "without faith, it is impossible to please God". The Creator of heaven and earth, who spoke everything into existence with just mere words, yet they are words of power and authority that frames the world we live in today. That's how faith-filled God is!
Life is an adventure, a journey of discovery.
The Holy Spirit, our Guide, leads us across the seas of doubt and insecurity in our hearts to show us the different talents and gifts God has hidden inside us. He helps us to discover these seeds sown in us, and encourages us to develop them ensuring that they don't go to waste but remain fruitful in Christ.
In this journey of discovery, some times we are led to the dark caves in our souls. We are faced with the result of fallen humanity, the weakness and corrupt nature of fallen man. Yet with love and spirit of gentleness, the Spirit whispers uplifting words, nudging us to repent and live a life of freedom in Christ, a world without any guilt or condemnation. Upon facing our weaknesses, we're given the chance to invite God to light up our caves with His eternal words that luminates and shine. Our vision are enlarged, and our capacity expanded as a result of this illumination. The Lord, the Masterbuilder, plasters up the cracks and scars in our souls with forgiveness and love, restoring us to what He had orginally intended it to be. And if we are willing, He removes the harmful impurities, and cleanses us white as snow.
Limitation is a mindset, that lacks faith, boldness and audacity.
The frog in the well, died in the well. He never knew the world outside of his limited well. What he could accomplish and the great things he could have done with his life was compromised.
