God sends rain in the drought, not food from the sky. He sends rain so that the seeds u've sow through hardwork would grow and mature into crops. He does not rain food down your lap, while u sit at the porch of your house doing nothing.
Many of the time we look for God in the most supernatural, most miraculous, most out of the box way. And we get disaapointed why He doesn't show up the way He should be.
Say you're feeling financially dry. You just lost your job, and your savings are depleting at the most rapid speed. You look to your bank book all day and instead of going out there to search for a job, counting on God's favor to be on you...You decide to pray and fast for extra digit '0's to appear behind your last drawn balance. Or some beautiful angels dressed in white, coming to you while you were asleep in an eye piercing white light, saying..."Behold, you just won yourself one millon dollars from the Almighty...Enjoy! Be problem free!"... Meanwhile when you're over-spiritually hiped up, you already missed God. And would soon find out so in great disappointment.
In troubled times, through desperation, many than start turning their eyes to Jesus. But they have a misguided expectation of how God works.
God works in mysterious ways. Of which sometimes, He may just send simple practical yet essential answers your way instead of the most dramatic and overly-rated ones.
Who knows, instead of sending you angels decending from the sky...He may send you angels that walk the earth from beside you.
