Practical faith

It was one of the worst flooding ever. The continuous heavy downpour coupled with deafening roars of thunder and the ramdon lighting dismissed any hope for the worse of the storm to be over.

The floodwater rose at such a rapid speed, it made it hard for one to run away to seek higher ground. Many heeded the warnings given by the authority to abandon their homes and seek safety else where. All but one.

The old farmer soon found himself stucked to his own house, barely able to withstand the adverse weather. At first it was ankle-deep, soon it was knee-deep, than it became chest deep.

The old farmer with all of his might fought for his life, climbed up to his broken roof, and chanted :"God will save me!"

A rowboat came by and stopped beside the house. "Come in or you'll drown" shouted the man.
"No, God will save me" replied the old farmer.

Then a speedboat came by and halted beside the house. "Step in or you'll drown, old man" shouted the guy.
"No, God will save me" replied the old farmer.

Afterwhich a helicopter flew pass the house. "Climb up the ladder or you'll drown" said the pilot.
"No, God will save me" replied the old farmer.

The old farmer drowned.

When he went to heaven, he asked God why He did not come and save him during the flood.

God said to him: " I've sent you first, the rowboat, second the speedboat and third, the helicopter...and you chose to respond to none of them..."

Friends, the moral of the story is this:
"When you only look for God in the spectacular, many of the time you'll miss Him."
