Snails

"By perserverance the snails reached the Ark."
I guess it would have been nervous wrecking to be the snails that were called by God to enter into Noah's Ark. Being the slowest among the slow creatures on earth, they must have struggled with thoughts of doubts, insecurity, inferiority...
"Will i be able to reach there in time?" one of the snail would have thought to himself.
"Did i hear wrongly?" the other would wonder.
"Maybe we missed it..." they question.
"We're so slow, we'll never be able to reach on time..." one would said to another.
"Why would God want us around, there are so many other better looking, more able creatures than us!" They would doubt in their hearts.
Yet they chose not to hear the voices of distraction and they perservered in the light of God's command, hoping to be able to answer that heavenly call. Inch by inch they would crawl with all they might toward the prize that were set before them. They clinged onto God's word. They desired to hear the word:"Well done, my faithful ones..." And so they did.
I can only imgaine how bad they must have felt, seeing other creatures who started with them or even later than them pass them by. Each step they took seemed insignificant to the great step of the elephants. They would look up into the sky and saw how effortlessly the eagles would soar to get to the Ark. Man, they must have provoke some insecurity in their hearts. As they see the dark clouds gathering, covering the sky, they hurried in their pace...hoping not to miss the timing. Discouragement could have sank into their thoughts. They sweat like crazy, they were tired and they must have felt the urge to slow down and giving up could have been an option. But it did not.
They did what they could, they kept going.
God never expects us to be perfect, cos we'll never be in our fallen nature; He expects us to be faithful in perservering.
"Brethren, i do not count myself to have apprehended, one thing i do forgetting those things behind...i pass toward the prize of the upward call of God in Jesus Christ"
Keep trying, you'll see results if you tried long enough.
