Detours

"There are two ways we can look at the future: with apprehension or anticipation. When we face the future with apprehension, it is because we are dominated by fear. When we face the future with anticipation, it is because we have been empowered by faith."

Many like me will not find it hard to relate to the uncertain future as something dark, mysterious and scary. Too often we find ourselves stucked in certain detours in this race (aka life). Detours are usually the result of bad decisions made by us. It not only stretch our patience through the long amount of time required to wait and inquire, it sucks faith right out of our faith tank.

Detours are commonly described as dry, streunous and last for a pro-long period of time. It involves capacity to wait, effort to mount, strength to bear and faith to overcome. Most of which have to be performed without the tangible presence of God to encourage.

People give up while going through detours. Many would simply throw in the towel and accept defeat. Sliding backward on the path of destruction. Death turns up and grab the weary and faithless in those time.Death lay low by the side of the detour, waiting to pound and blind the mind of the weary. It hold on tightly to the mind of the weary, turning the positive, edifying, faith building manas into mere passing words of insignificant worth. The weary grow more wearisome, without the word of faith. Consider how many conseded to failure in the valley of dark bones.

Seated at the foot of our own mountains, which we have to conquer in our own detours, im pretty sure that fiery darts of doubt, defeat and failure are flung more intensively on us. The battlefield is not one of flesh and blood, but of the mind.

A step after another, we embark on the quest to reach its summit, and continue running our race. Yet each time we turn, we are constantly reminded of how things used to be. How if we hadn't make that choice, we would be on the other side of the field. Regret, disappointment, frustration, anger overwhlems to take control of our thought.

Without the tangible presence of God, without the familiar route we were on...we find ourselves exposed, vulnerable, and perhaps lost. Without the ability to forecast what's ahead, it became a guessing game. And the insecure are left by the side, afraid.

The Bible promises...Rev 21:7: He who overcomes shall inherit all things, he shall be My son and i wil be His God..."

Perhaps im feeling insecure about the future. Im at lost of words to describe me. For i don't know what it is installed with and how it would unfold. My dreams and desires are dead. And i feel all alone, weary in my heart and soul. Familar faces are no longer around. Comforting words, no one to speak. Assurance of being someone God want me to be, deminished. I'm like a broken vase, lying by the side of the road. Perhaps someday someone would come along, and bring me to the Potter's room. To wash me clean and stand me up, restoring all the broken parts. You alone know the content of my heart. The many sorrows it carry, You see. Give me strength to stay in the middle and keep walking in this path that's rite. Grant me the grace to carry on with You. Give me my Manasseh, the ability to forget. To let go of the past, achievements and fault. Im really tired torn in the middle of the two. Open my eyes, to see a glimpse of Your light. To carry hope in my bones, to keep walking on.

Though i see not my future ahead, though i feel not your tangible presence to encourage...I will learn to fear you and keep going on.

MERCY, MERCY MERCY! Hear the cry of a wearisome soul.
